Friends! This is thread is all about what you're eating today. And what bodily reactions it prompts:
Here's mine:
Wake up at 5. Nice Dump.
5:30: Drink 20 ounces of hot spring water.
6:30: Drink 16 ounces of celery juice (one huge bunch of celery, juiced) -- drink maybe 6 ounces of water with that, as the second part, mostly leaves is very bitter.
6:45: Dump number two. Very thorough.
7:30: 8 - 12 ounces of aged, fermented liver and kidney fat. Very rich. Tangy and tingly. Takes about forty five pleasurable minutes to eat entirely.
8-12:00: Satisfied and relaxed. Plenty of concentration for dealing with tedious computer stuff.
12:00 Definitely hungry again.
12 - 1:00 Skateboard to Berkeley Bowl and score 7 pounds of chicken. A beautiful sunny day, the board is springy, the turns crisp. Feeling like a kid.
1:00 PM: Chicken Shake. Maybe 1.5 pounds of chicken cut off of legs in a blender with a pint of water and 3 capsules of vegetal silica. Creamy and kind. The friendly pink drink. Aaaah.
4:30 Hungry again, writing this.
5:00 PM: Chicken Shake #2. Same details as before. Maybe bite off the ends of the bones and slurp the marrow. Maybe leave them for breakfast or later tonight.
5:30 - 8:00 PM: Yoga, listening to Jan Garbarek and Ustad Fateh Ali Khan: Ragas and Sagas. Sweet! Then some Hassan Hakmoun and Amjad Ali Khan. Love that sitar.
8:00 PM perhaps a little snack of those chicken bones or more liver and fat before bed, to keep the emotional setting deep for dreaming, and plenty of fuel for intense consciousness. A long-winter's night. Nighty night.

Re: I'm Eating!
Fri, January 14, 2005 - 12:51 AMCongratulations friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It excites me to hear the good news! I just finished a long beef cycle. Now, I'm loving my raw maguro tuna and salmon eggs. Life doesn't taste better than that! I hope you've had the chance to try your beef and eggs raw. Especially raw eggs, fresh from the farmers market are among the best breakfasts and desserts I know!
Happy Eating :) -

Re: I'm Eating! Eggsssses
Sat, January 15, 2005 - 1:02 PMBeen going on 2 dozen a day this month.
Try imagining 2 dozen cooked eggs a day ...
bluuuuugh. But Raw they're so sweet
and talk about power: Instant Wood.
And running a half hour later, no problem.
Filling in the gaps between egg meals with
raw cultured liver and kidney fat.
Have felt a bit resistant about going whole
hearted on the liver, but mycells do want it.
It's called the emotional center of the body
and does seem to make us more emotional.
Eating a big bowl last night within five minutes
the absolute silence of mind was deafening.
Noticing lately that the volume of food eaten
does seem to determine the amount of sleep needed.
Been sleeping a whole lot, which is normal for
winter, but eating more allows mycells to sleep
a little less.
Really getting into the season. A very Yin time.
Metabolically a big time for healing and
transformation. A good time to eat a lot,
sleep a lot and let the cells deepen the
rhythms. Winter. Dark. Yin. Inward. Slow.
Exercising just enough to keep the joints limber
and facilitate the healing. Noticing that
an hour of running or skating or two hours of dancing
is enough. Wrong time of year for the big exertion.
Relax, little body. Grow deep and calm.
Interesting that the Spring is the time for the liver
and yet mycells want liver. Have been finding
a beautiful liver tonic in green juice:
1.5 heads celery, .5 bunch green chard,
.125 bunch cilantro, .125 small onion
first meal of the day. Make sure a
Toilet Bowl is standing by...
Mycells notice that the liver regulates
emotional states and to expand the
range requires liver cleansing;
and to stabilize the gains requires
building the Yin, the foundation.
Thus the Eggs and Liver, building the Yin
are so useful right now.
And the periodic green juice to reset
the range.
And the giant slalom on Virginia street
on the Loaded Deck to lock in the
emotional setting.
Feeling good about eating.
Eating more.
$45 a week for eggs seems much,
but for the incredible richness of
protein and fat, the full beard in
6 weeks, the velvet, supple skin,
it's priceless.
Large Love to the Egg Man!
Large Love to the Egg Woman!
Large Love to the little Egg Girl,
who's learning to say Thank You
in English.
Large Love to us all in this inward time. -

thinking of emailing the raw goat cheese lady. but perhaps my tummy is just a bit hungry. a little xtra fat in the winter time is a nice thing.
and i have noticed the hibernation attitude in myself as well as low level exertion activities.
back to our other friend...yes.. raw and raw and raw
well.. i do have a spot of tea now and then.. but no ill affects contrived it seems.
one day i will eat seal with relish and delight, and have little bloody parts on my cheeks :P

Chew dem Eggs, Mon
Sun, April 10, 2005 - 9:52 AMXaos --
The key piece for mycells is ensalivating them well:
Breaking up the yolk in the mouth and mixing it all with
spit before swallowing. Swishing it around, getting the
saliva moving. Gotta get those digestive enzymes
working on the stuff so it digests easily -- otherwise it's
just this big wad of superdense protein and fat right into
the stomach -- and that is not a happy thing. Many of us
categorically need to learn to chew and ensalivate our food
and eggs are a fine teacher for that. Maybe swish one around
for two minutes -- literally! -- so that the body knows
what he's getting before it's thrown down the hole, and can
prepare for digesting this super dense load.
If we mix them well with spit, there is little compulsion to hurl.
Avoid eating too many, tho, or hurl shall ye, in earnest.
Eating them, and chewing them each well, one at a time,
I can usually do twelve. Six, then wait ten or fifteen minutes,
then six more. True free range, never refrigerated work best.
Warming them to room temperature (esp. by keeping them at
room temperature) works well. Each of us has our own appropriate
tolerance. Eggs tend to really bring us into our root (kidney essence)
and that in itself can be very intense.
Good for the Jing. Builds the semen. Encourages morning wood.
Makes the hair grow. Allows for the release of deep liver toxicity.
May necessitate drinking water a half hour afterwards.
Seems to affect the circulation of bodily fluids much
as raw oily fish does -- but more so.
Blessings on the Egg Path! May the yolk awaken within.

Re: I'm Eating!
Sun, April 17, 2005 - 10:42 PMi am starting a fast tomorrow, and then beginning a macrobiotic protocol after that.Mo based diet, from ages before...
Maybe 2 months, who knows!
My desire to do this is in direct proportion to this tribe. Thanks go out to all, for the reminder of lively, zinging cells; to want to bring that space into thisspace.
Loves!
